37 Inch CRT monitor restoration...any interest?

This probably isnt the best place for it, but maybe just to gauge the interest...

So as some of you may already know, I have a Mitsubishi MegaView XC-3720SS RGB analogue/digital CRT monitor.

A Godzilla of a monitor:

Unfortunately, the monitor had a fault, where the picture went weird (which is where I picked it up) and has since not powered on at all (so I'm guessing the power board caps have gone).

So definitely a project.

However, there is a burnt component on one of the boards, which looks like a suitable starting point for fault finding the display fault too and most of the through hole components seem to be fairly regular (not any custom ICs as far as I can tell) so maybe not too bad a project?

I have no intention of touching this internally and was going to pay for a CRT expert who knew a friend to diagnose and possibly repair. However, I'm slowly running out of both room and enthusiasm, so am looking to see if there's any interest for this monitor.

I guess the arcade machine tube hunters would salvage this, but it would be a shame not to restore the girl to her former glory and send her to a good home.

(Arrows in photos show location of burnt component).

Forgot to mention... for some reason, the previous owner decided to paint the front bezel in black paint (!) The scratches on the front bezel are just down to the original grey colour finish (like the back) which, I think can be fairly easily restored by basically peeling/chipping the black stuff off.

It's one of those things where somewhere like RMC might like it but it's probably beyond most users collection?

I've got too many 28" CRTs as it is :)

I'd love to see it restored. If there is willingness but no equipment/funds depending on location I can pop over and bring a few things for the afternoon (discharge wand, scope, dmm, solder station etc). CRTs are not my area of expertise but we could get a few guys on the phone.

Thanks for the enthusiasm @alexh. :)

Other than all the other retro guff, I currently have six CRTs (only two are smaller than 21"+) so I really do need to cut down.

I did try starting a CRT repair contacts database here, as I have no expertise, but apparently there was no interest.

There can't be that many tubes left of this size, so I'm sure someone will take the challenge.

Out of interest, where are you based anyway?
