Unknown VME from a MegaST

Post by Tophe38 »

Hello,

In a MegaST2, I found a expansion board on the VME bus.
It outputs 2 DB9 (1 male, 1 female).
The card is pretty simple. The main chip, SCN68681C1N40 is a "Dual Universal Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter (DUART)"
It takes its power from the free connector on the motherboard.
The board name is BNC 100 ST V3.0 8815
It come from a UK MegaST2, TOS 1.02, without blitter
Here a picture :

Anybody knows it ? It seems to be a Germain board (red sticker on top).

Unless I'm remembering wrong, if it's from a Mega ST then it's Megabus not VME and IIRC they are not cross compatible.

Hi,

Thanks for all you replies.
I received this MegaST2 and a SH205 from a person which keep it in the house of his parent. He remember he was playing on it with friend, but don't remember where his father bought it and why. On floppy, beside some games, I found Magic Sac and PcDitto (and some dos applications)
This machine come from France, but it's UK (TOS and keyboard).
And looking at artik-wroc web pages, I notice the same green badge (well, simple paper), instead of Atari badge.

But mine has nothing print, only green (and from memory, nothing was erased).

I inspect the SH205 before power on, but nothing critical. None of my ST boot it.

You can buy replacement MegaST case badges from atarifreakz.

They are sold out of Mega ST4 badges though :(
