[Video] First steps with a PiStorm ST: building a debugging breakout board

Post by Badwolf »

Afternoon all.

Here's a brief (for me) video outlining the PiStorm concept, putting together a stack to try it out on the ST and showing how I designed and built a breakout board for the 68K pins to be able to attach the logic analyser.

Cheers,

BW.

Great vid @Badwolf .

AFAICT, thats the 3B+. With the shortage of components thats the best model I currently own.

I was going to use IDC ribbon for the connection to a PiStorm. Would there be any problems to this alternative connection solution?

Yeah, don't use a ribbon for the Pi to PiStorm part. Signal integrity there is key.

Adapter board, extension like mine or desolder the USB ports is the best bet. That's a 200MHz data path. Shorter the better.
