I never realised Atari made PC-compatibles in the eighties until a scrapper offered me a PC3 three weeks ago. I of course accepted the offer. It was the main unit only, the monitor and keyboard were missing in action.
I was still enjoying my ZX Spectrum back in the day and we learned CP/M on Schneider (Amstrad) CPC 6128 with their lovely green monochrome monitors. I skipped the XT era and got a 286 when these were introduced (I complained to my dad my school rejected my paper printed in ZX Spectrum thermal paper
Beside some scuff marks on the case, the unit is in pretty good condition. Hardly a spec of dust in the case which leads me to be believe it has been hardly used. The hard drive is gone unfortunately, it still spins but the heads are stuck.

I remove the 360k 5,25 drive and replace it with a 720k 3,5 drive.

Great! I'll be installing a PicoMEM in mine and see how it goes. Where did you find the AT to XT keyboard adapter?frank.lukas wrote: ↑Fri Aug 09, 2024 4:31 pm I have a Atari PC3 too ...

These are well build machines. For me personally, next to the Olivetti M24, the greatest looking XT-machines ever made.
