Yay, finally received everything needed to build my Greaseweazle set:
It will be now easy-peasy to make floppies for my Amiga and my X68000.
Just wonder whether to buy panel mount LEDs to have "POWER" and "ACTIVITY" from the Greaseweazle on the front of the case...

Re: Greaseweazle
OK, I answered my own question...
SInce I couldn't resist to solder "Activity" and "Power" pins on the Greaseweazle, I now have to connect LEDs on the front of the case.
Looks good in the case:
Now turn to find suitable panel mount LEDs.

Re: Greaseweazle
The case is made for only one 3.5" FDD and one 5" 1/4 FDD.
I will cram in a YE-DATA 3.5" drive and a YE-DATA 5" 1/4 drive.
Here's what it will look:
The top lid isn't completely closed and the 2 LEDs are not fitted yet (on the right of the 3.5" FDD).

Those 5 1/4 drives tend to be expensive on Ebay.
What kind of 5 1/4 FDD are you in search of ? A 1.2MB one or a 360KB one ?

Re: Greaseweazle
Yes, prices have skyrocketed, though I do have a pair of 5 1/4 drives for a BBC, I don't want to raid that. Also, one drive needs fixing...HigashiJun wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2024 10:20 amThank you !rubber_jonnie wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2024 10:11 am Very nice, I like it. I'd probably go for a 1.2Mb drive I think. Maybe cheaper to buy an old PC with one installed already and raid it from that.

Yes, provided the drive in the PC still works...rubber_jonnie wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2024 10:24 am Maybe cheaper to buy an old PC with one installed already and raid it from that.

Re: Greaseweazle
Nice. Mine is in a slimline 3.5" floppy drive metal case at the moment.
If you've not got one, I also recommend the Drawbridge. That is not intended for preservation but can be used to easily access original disks. It's a 3.5" USB floppy drive (sub £10 on Amazon/eBay/AliExpress) and you remove the insides and replace the controller with a drawbridge that reads exotic disks.

The A500 Mini can use it to load from real Amiga disks.
