The Colecovison has happily arrived
Initial look suggests it may have been in a damp environment, one of the carts doesn't look great with rusty screws, but the unit itself seems in decent condition externally.
As you can see, Oliver the product inspector has been diligently checking things out.
I should be able to use any 9 pin sticks with it as there are no controllers and I need to figure out a PSU, but I think it's going to be a a good project.
Need to figure out composite and audio out too.
Still, it was the cheapest one I could find on ebay.
Stay tuned...

Re: I've been Coleco'd
Wow, I had this one back in the 80's !
If I remember correctly, I swapped it for a ZX Spectrum (or was it the ZX Spectrum swapped for the Colecovision ?)...
My cat was not really interested in it, though.

Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

Didn't even have a 2600 myself, started off with a ZX81, so these are new things to me.HigashiJun wrote: ↑Sat Sep 28, 2024 12:53 pm Wow, I had this one back in the 80's !

Trying to get a decent collection of consoles of this era, will go nice with the 2600/7800 I have plus the intellivision.
Here's a closer look:
Time to crack it open and see just what I've let myself in for!
Carts came up OK, just bad labels and a couple of replacement screws :

I mentioned in the original post, it doesn't have any, but not the end of the world.

Re: I've been Coleco'd
They use standard 9 pin controller plugs, so from what I have read they will work with standard Atari joysticks or the 2 button ones.HigashiJun wrote: ↑Sat Sep 28, 2024 1:28 pm

Not 100% ideal but a start. I'm watching one on ebay atm.
