From Ebay...

Even if the seller was not from China, the stuff he's selling could be.

Ahh, risky place for Ajax, they seem to be quite sought after.

While waiting for the A5000 mouse (and a solder tip for a repair), I worked a bit on my A3000.

The ZIDEFS IDE podule is fitted on top of the MIDI podule.

There is a link from pin 10 of IC33 to pin 3 of the SK3 connector, in order to make 2 podules work at the same time.

But when I boot the machine, only podule one (MIDI) is recognised.

Will have to investigate more and check on the Stardot forum...

Quite different to the insides of the A5000, much less room. Took me a while to figure out which module was which as the blend in together.

Yeah, you have to be more creative here...

I just hope to make them both work sooner or later.

Yay, I managed to have a working HD FDD module !

The FDD I have is a TEAC FD-235HF 7549, but all TEAC drives with the same kind of jumpers should work. The jumpers are setted as following:

I use the original Acorn flat cable, i.e. Pin 2 not connected.

I cried victory too soon...

Even if I managed to format a 1.6MB floppy without any issues, the HDADFS module seems to be unstable...

I powered-off my computer and launched the previously created module again, but when trying to access the menu, it freezes.

I will check again when I will have my ZIDEFS IDE fitted back again, in order to launch automatically HDADFS from the !Boot folder.

:(

I hate it when that happens! Could it be the FDD controller IC? Which one did you use in the end?

Yeah, me too...

I use the WD1772-PH, but I think there is an issue elsewhere.

Have to try something else, but it's for tomorrow if time allows.
