And as expected, the CF card adapter I wanted to fit doesn't work:
so I have to use a standard one:
It's a pity as the first one was a perfect fit for my 3-in-1 podule.
I will have to connect the standard CF adapter via a 44 pin cable and probably attach it on the FDD...

How can a CF adapter "not work"? They are passive. Just wires.

Good question...
The first one works in my Amiga but doesn't in my A3000.
If you carefully look at the second picture, the adapter has "more" electronics on it. Would it be the answer ?

If you google around the v.B1 version often turns up made incorrectly. I am surprised that is the more reliable of the two.

A little update:
I received 66 MHz and 64 MHz oscillators today and decided to play a bit with the ARM3 CPU.
If you remember, I have already overclocked the CPU from 25 MHz to 30 MHz and everything was stable as a rock.
With a 66 MHz oscillator (=33 MHz CPU), I had errors before getting to the desktop, so 33 MHz was definitely a no go.
The 64 MHz oscillator (=32 MHz CPU) gave me some hope, as the A3000 booted to the desktop and performed well until it froze during Elite, so clearly a second no go...
But let's not be too ambitious, as the current overclocking is still better than nothing.

Is there any way to upgrade the memory to faster types?
I know that with the A4000 (ARM250) you can't overclock at all with the stock SIPP memory but with faster modules you can overclock substantially (but it screws up a lot of the display modes).

A3000 memory runs at 8 MHz, and the original chip is rated 10 MHz.
I'm waiting for a MEMC1A 12 MHz chip I have ordered last week to try to overclock it at least to 15 MHz (and to 20 MHz if possible).
The Atomwide 4 MB memory expansion with its 70ns chips should be still fine at these speeds.

There are some threads on stardot with Ian doing some overclocking to 12MHz. I got the impression the overall result was positive however the route to get there was long and arduous.
