That's cool @rubber_jonnie. I bet there is a 3d printed part that lets you sit an SD card extension where its easily accessible under the drive lid. That's what they did on the dreamcast.

Undoubtedly there is, and having done the upgrade I think it's needed.

Mine arrived a short while ago and I've just got it installed. Altho mine was a 21 pin cable as well, mine needed a twist in it to match up properly.

Time to get some games onto an SD Card and then 3d print that bracket.

I am so pleased the Saturn is up and running again, I think it has to be my favourite retro console.

Odd it needed a twist, mine was straight point to point. Photo pls :)

Super simple install though.

@rubber_jonnie the difference is on the motherboard end, the socket is reversed.

Oh yeah, how odd.

I have to say, this is a really stonking upgrade. I'm very impressed how simple it is to fit and how well it just works, it's got to be one of the best solutions for this sort of thing I've seen, so easy to do.

Yes it was really easy to install and to set up. I tried it with a very quick game of Batsugun and now will put it all back together.

I do have some boxed more OG Saturn games on CD still, so in the process of getting them downloaded so I can drop them on the card. Mine is all back together now.

I have to say that it really does show how bad my CD drive was. When I put disks in I was getting interference on screen and now it is just solid as a rock. I'll keep the drive anyway, but I really feel the need for a GD ODE for the DC now.

It'll need to wait until I'm paid now as I have rather overspent this month.

@PhilC One thing I need to figure out is how to swap disks, since Panzer Dragoon Saga is on 4 disks.
