Re: BennehBoy's Bobbins
Unfortunately the prices are high for everything at the moment.
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

Re: BennehBoy's Bobbins
I've paid just over 220 quid for this one, 25 of which was postage & 70 was double VAT & fees.
About half the price of what they are going for in working condition in the UK.

Re: BennehBoy's Bobbins
It's here.
But with no PSU - oops, I misunderstood the Italian translation. No biggie really, just a bit more time to wait, I've got 4 c64 PSU's and have ordered an adapter - unfortunately that's coming from Poland.
Pics:
Bit grotty, but nothing some TLC can't fix.
There is one issue with the case, but that was in the description so I'm pretty pleased - just need to actually fire it up now!

Very nice! I was under the impression that the C64 PSU did not have a high enough output for the C128?BennehBoy wrote: ↑Thu Feb 10, 2022 1:10 pm It's here.

Re: BennehBoy's Bobbins
Wasn't it that the C128 is effectively two computers in one and hence needed a completely different power sub-system?

Facepalm. Yes you guys are right, I bought the adapter without doing any research, just assumed it would work, otherwise why would anyone make it right? Well, turns out they are meant for adapting modern stronger c64 PSU's.
PSU on order, should be here tomorrow or Saturday.

Looking good...especially the Uk key layout.
Yep. Definitely dont try a C64 PSU. (Or the earlier C64 SID chips).
Also, the connector is the same as an Amiga PSU...DONT use an Amiga PSU!
You'll have to spill all the details, like the SID and VDC revision, and see if theres any mods done (like the 64kb VDC mod).

Indeed it was, in fact I watched an 8 Bit Guy vid on it and he specifically mentioned the PSU being different.stephen_usher wrote: ↑Thu Feb 10, 2022 1:54 pm Wasn't it that the C128 is effectively two computers in one and hence needed a completely different power sub-system?

Ha, I know not to use an Amiga PSU, it has no 9V AC supply - 5V 12V & -12V.mrbombermillzy wrote: ↑Thu Feb 10, 2022 3:56 pm Looking good...especially the Uk key layout.

Anyhow I can't see any mods.
SID is 8561 23rd week of 1985
VDC is R9 39th week of 1985
I've got a 64k upgrade for the VDC which sits under the chip.
