Looks good. 81% efficiency isn't too bad. Guess it depends on what load. Of course just because it can deliver 3 Amos doesn't mean you're using more electric. It's possible higher power ratings will be using better spec parts, so efficiency could well be higher than your original 1.2amp one.
Even so 5 x 1.2 = 6watts. So maybe 7 watts from the wall...
No idea what price of electric is anymore, 20p KW/hr ?!
20 / 1000 = 0.02p per watt. X 7 = 0.14p. Sooo... 20 / 0.14 = 142 hours run for 20p.. So 6 days for 20p..
Oh I dunno, to tired will go find a calculator to work it out...
Edit:
Yep. About £1 a month. WiFi router probably uses way more

Re: The Cosmic Puppet's Universe.
I guess I just meant that wattage costs money and that I'm probably best going as low as is good for the device. We'll see how much heat this new one produces. Was looking at an old forum and it would seem that the early boxes required less power than the "record and pause live tv" boxes (less stuff inside)exxos wrote: ↑Mon Aug 01, 2022 1:48 am Looks good. 81% efficiency isn't too bad. Thing is I can usually find the manual. Can't find anything on this Bush DFTA12. Pretty amazed I got a brand new remote considering this fact.
I don't use WIFI, I just use USB tethering on my mobile phone and get the equivalent of my standard broadband without the high cost and terrible customer service. Never looked back since I found out I could do that.
This brings me back to when I had a VIC-20. The power brick got so hot that it developed a massive crack across it! What was going on with that? Did they rate the power incorrectly?

Just looked at the back of my 28 inch CRT and it says 108W so any power savings...

This is what gold plated looks like.
It's off a £10 SCART cable from a major chain that looked awful with a VHS. Used a cable from an old set top box and the picture was perfect!

I have a huge box of like 100 gold plated scart cables in the loft. I was going to turn them into ST cables, but in the end I thought, nah,

Re: The Cosmic Puppet's Universe.
Hi Tony,
Can I ask what set top box you actually bought?
Reason for asking is that we have an old analogue TV in the kitchen & the old STB we were using with it has died , so we're looking for a replacement & I'm skeptical about the operation of many of the new ones (plus I don't really want an HDMI output or recording to USB drives, just a working SCART socket would be fine).
Cheers!

Hmm, that should have been @Cosmic Puppet rather than Tony in the previous post...JezC wrote: ↑Mon Aug 01, 2022 5:47 pm Hi Tony,
