What I’m up to...

Post by DominoTree »

Figured I’d start one of these as well

This weekend I received something I paid way too much for but have been wanting for nearly thirty years - an unmolested 4MB USA Falcon 030!

Of course I’ve got yet another Exxos order on the way with parts for it...

In other news the final PCBs for the DIN14 adapters and external floppy boards should be here Tuesday or Wednesday - should have new DIN14 “cables” and DIN14-to-external floppy boards up for sale for around $10USD each

(Pic attached are the previous prototypes that needed a couple of tweaks) - new boards are white with a rainbow ribbon cable and built using the absolute sturdiest Micro-USB B connector available

Oh, full plans and Gerbers for these are at https://github.com/5vsupply/Atari_Floppy

I still need to make a proper BOM but the only non-standard part are these pins https://www.digikey.com/en/products/det ... 0/10063633

Got the RAM and a new video adapter and so far it’s smooth sailing - still waiting on an FPU to arrive so I can run everything bundled with FreeMiNT. Also waiting on some EEPROMs to show up to load new EmuTOS builds on.

I can’t believe this is finally happening! :D
