Thanks - though it's booting but not reading the floppy drive today

The other one doesn't boot to the load disc screen, so that needs an even deeper delve when I have the time.

Yes, just still struggling with the energy levels myself (I'd say about 50% of my usual level now). Hope your recovery is quicker than mine!
Trust me, your energy levels will return, just takes a bit of time. I was training tonight and feel like my energy is up massively, so you'll be fine :)

Thanks @rubber_jonnie. Small improvement every day ATM.

That A500 drive worked again today, so maybe it has a similar problem!

Ok, so as I briefly mentioned on another thread, I have put the ST536 into my H4 board & that seems to be working fine. I'll have to decide which machine to put the TRUDIE into now...such difficult decisions! ;)

I still need to play around with some settings to optimise performance a bit & then see which sequencers work with it OK (Cubase 3 & Logic are the two most likely candidates...so I'll need to fit the cart socket before I can test those anyway  )

Then I'm unsure whether to try the DFB1X in my Falcon (which only has the stock Atari clock mod from what I can see, so I may need to remove that & fit the Exxos v2 clock patch instead if I have problems with DFB1x) or try the ACSI SD card adaptor (on an STF/Mega ST first probably & then maybe on an STE.

Well, due to lack of time to tackle the Falcon today, I've just resurrected another STFM & tried the BBAN SD hard drive...and it boots!

First issue is the brightness of the white LED...I'll have to find something to dim that down a bit before I can use it for extended periods. :geek:

Other than that, it booted off the included SD card & I could run Sysinfo & GEMBENCH off it without problems.
I'll have to explore what other goodies are included on that SD card tomorrow as I need to check some stuff before work tomorrow :(

But a positive start with this so far. Maybe I'll try it on an STE (and then with the 32MHZ accelerator plugged in but running at 8MHz)...

@JezC Hope you're recovering well from your human malware :)

Slow but steady progress at the moment, thanks @rubber_jonnie.
Didn't have the energy for much last night but that is now the exception not the norm.

I might start to read up on fitting the DFB1X to my Falcon tonight...and just test it with the standard clock patch initially.

How are you feeling now?

Gald to hear you're getting better. I'm pretty much back to normal now, which is great, fingers crossed you will be too soon.

Good news that you've pretty much recovered.

Only just back for acting as taxi to the youngest (nearly 17 now), then walking the dog & having tea...probably too late to do much on the DFB1X tonight but I'll open some relevant tabs in case I have more time tomorrow evening...

Ok, so I put the Falcon on the 'operating table' & checked it booted.

Then I fitted the DFB1x (removed the link on the shorter of the two Falcon expansion bus connectors first ;)).

System boot & appears to be exactly as before - I see some activity on a few of the LEDs on the DFB1x but Sysinfo is still reporting a 16MHz 68030 and not detecting any additional RAM.

Still set for 40MHz & BS1 closed (so bank 0) & all J2 pins are open.

I'm sure it;'s something simple/daft that I've missed.

Any ideas @Badwolf / @exxos ?

Sysinfo doesn't measure CPU speed properly and won't detect any RAM only report what the OS tells it. Which will be nothing unordinary if you're running normal TOS4.04.

First thing -- how fast is the CPU really? Try Gembench Integer Division.

Second thing, try flashing my the patched TOS4.04 that's kicking around somewhere, or use the AUTO software Exxos supplies here: https://exxosforum.co.uk/atari/last/DFB1X/
