DO NOT USE MOBILE / CGNAT DEVICES WHERE THE IP CHANGES CONSTANTLY!
At this time, it is unfortunately not possible to whitelist users when your IP changes constantly.
You may inadvertently get banned because a previous attack may have used the IP you are now on.
So I suggest people only use fixed IP address devices until I can think of a solution for this problem!

Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

Well...

So the extended RAM tests pass every time now, so that's good, but on the built in diagnostics the 47th and 48th block still fail when the test is left running. I'll Sys-Check/other RAM test it again today but I am wondering if there is some side effect of the Rambo expansion that causes this.

I wonder what the built-in tests do. It certainly takes a long time to do what it is doing.

I was just wondering the exact same thing...

So I've swapped 7 out of 8 ICs now and pass extended checks and Sys-Check.

I suspect as you suggest it's timing related though it is all the same batch of RAM and the same speed and manufacturer.

Might see if I have some other make and speed though it just passed the self test too.

Apparently on boot the machine tests RAM by writing first all ones then all zeroes and checking it reports as OK. It also checks the ROM checksums are correct and if not hands over to the self test.

Apparently the self test does more thorough checks of the RAM, but I don't know quite what than means, hopefully a march test of some sort given the time taken for it to run.

However it has now passed extended RAM tests, Sys-Check main RAM and ROM tests and the Self test, so I'm going to call it good and put it back together!!!

I have replaced 7 out of the 8 original RAM ICs, though I don't think they are necessarily all bad, though 2 I took out have tested as bad.

OK, so the 800XL is all back together and working with Fujinet nicely. Here playing Prince of Persia using an ATR image pulled down from one of the Fujinet online Atari repositories:

And here running the online wether client:

Quite impressed by the weather client, it autodetected my location and gave me the weather for our area :) Admittedly we don't live in Clacton, but it's close enough.

The only change needed for the weather client was to swap from Fahrenheit to Centigrade.

One other thing about the Fujinet is that since I updated the firmware, it seems to be remembering my WiFi access code, something it didn't do before.
