Hi Exxos. When will the keycaps be going on sale? I need a 7/& and -/_ key caps to complete a 520STe renovation.

I’d be happy to do the cropping of the keyboard image to the 100+ keys images if that would help.

Thanks, Chas

Not sure when they will get into the store. I have sorted keys out but it's always time in short supply.

However I do have a custom payment box in my store, so I can do a custom order for the keys you want..

Possibly thanks. I'm not sure if I'll go with images or a sprite CSS sheet yet. Probably be a after Xmas project either way as I'm swamped with all sorts right now.

so you don't want the & and / caps ? I'm slightly confused. Also there is no '_' key unless you mean the one next to the zero ?

Might be simpler just to upload a image of you keyboard so I can just see what's missing.

So while my scripts are busy I decided to catch up on a few household chores...

First up mother managed to break the paper shredder while helping do my tax return

Looks like the paper jammed up the lever which allows the thing to turn on when putting the paper in it...

So now the lever is free.. Onward to removing the rest of the paper...

I got a bit distracted with the "mechanical timer" because when you put the paper in it automatically turns off after a few seconds. I think it's pretty simple and ingenious. Because when that plastic lever moves, on the end of it is a spring and a plastic circle. That circle gets put at the end of a worm gear. So then the motor turns on by the switch and the worm gear slowly lets the circle write down it until it literally runs off the end. At which point there is nothing to leaver the switch and keep it on any more so the whole thing turns off.

So all back and working them back together now :D

It looks pretty vicious underneath as well! :hide:

Next up emergency light packed in. I took one of these to bits a few months ago and gave up and bought a new one.. Which did not seem to last long either.. Seems to be a common fault on these things...

Spot the problem...

All is well in the world again :)

Finally had time to fit the modified block onto my chair! The piston went too far in. So the plunger was being constantly pressed down. My quick fix was to just use my new general and cut off the lever because I don't really use the uppy downy bit anyway.

Keen eyed viewers will see where the block was welded where the metalwork guy cracked it inserting the angled collar. Sure how good the welds are or how deep etc though considering this is made out of stainless steel I am not sure even if it did crack it would significantly reduce the strength. But I guess ultimately if he broke again I would have to get the whole thing made again. I suspect the piston will break again before that happens anyway.

Not being online much for the past couple of days because of more computer problems  specifically to the anti-virus software again

Long story short it updated and it was just crashing continuously and repeatedly about every two minutes. At one point I thought my hard drive had bad sectors because the nt kernel was crashing. It took a long time to figure out. In the end I restored Fridays backup and everything worked fine until I connected the Internet backup and the anti-virus downloaded updates of then started crashing repeatedly. I've been battling it out with ESET support who released pre-release updates, which solved the problem.. Then two hours later it updated again and started crashing again :pullhair:

Another long story short they said earlier
The issue has been pinpointed and should be resolved in version 1245.1 of the Cleaner module, which is due for release later today.
One thing I only just really found out as I could rollback updates within ESET. I went back 10 updates and it looks like the version numbers of the modules which I was running on Friday. It has not crashed once since using earlier versions. So I presume I will get a email at some point tomorrow saying they have fixed the problem.

Is a wonderful thing to happen Monday morning ! Did I mention I hate computers ?

:comp:

EDIT:

Finally fixed. They said.
We do not develop the software here in the UK but my understanding is some third-party software does not correctly write values to the Windows registry and our Cleaner module 1245 did not adequately account for this, causing the ESET kernel to continually crash and restart.
