@mrbombermillzy it's a great synth, with some weird and wonderful patches.

Well I have a C128 with stereo SID and midi, so you never know.

It makes me think I should refurb my collection of synths, samplers and expanders.... which includes
Yamaha:
DX7Ss
FB01
MU50
SW60
SW1000XG
DSP Factory

Korg:
M1
01R/w

Kawaii KC10

Roland:
MT32
D110
SC55
SC88
SC8820

Akai:
S2000
X7000
MX73

Various multi track recorders & workstations (mostly Yamaha)

So, a music-themed section at a future CL would be good!

Note that I won't be bringing all of the above...unless I bring it all in a Luton or similar sized van

Absolutely - just needs to be under a 4 hour drive each way if possible (so not much further south than Northampton ideally) :)

I think the Leighton Buzzard spot fit the bill in most respects.

There was certainly plenty of room last time.

Will have to start thinking about it again soon.

Well that's just plain annoying.

I've got a readable image now on the screen but no matter what I do so far I can't get it to shift over to the left.

Yeah, very annoying!

And the linearity is a bit out as well.
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

I can tweak the linearity and the horizontal size but not found a horizontal position adjustment yet. Could it be yoke related?

I guess that it could be the voltage on the scan coils. I have no idea how the horizontal scanning is done it's magical analogue stuff.

P.S. From this: https://www.hobby-electronics.info/en/e ... deflection it looks like the left size of the screen depends upon a diode. For one half of the scan line the "HOT" transistor turns on and pushes the dot to one side whilst the capacitor fills. It's turned off and the dot flies back but then the cap discharges through the coil in the opposite direction and the diode switches on, or something. I guess that if the diode isn't working you only get half the scan.

P.P.S. Check the "damper" diodes as they're supposed to be running the first part of the scan line.

Thanks @stephen_usher I'll give that a go when it's next on the bench.
