Hi, quick introduction
I'm here because I really wanted to buy an old Land Rover to restore. However that is well beyond my capabilities, and my wife's patience. So instead I bought a non-working Atari ST for £30. I figured I could offload it for parts if I couldn't do anything with it.
My plan is to collect working examples of all the computers I owned or used before about 1995. Starting with a ZX81, and ending with a SUN sparcstation.
I'm fine with basic soldering and (for example) replacing capacitors doesn't strike too much fear. Which is a good thing, as I think that might be the first job.
Aled.

Knowing how problematic these machines are, the Land Rover may have been a simpler project

Welcome to the forum!
Used to have a Defender 90 with a TD5 engine but think the computers are less likely to be stolen for parts!

Beware, you start out with good intentions, then it's all like "well that'd be nice too" and "Ooooh that seems really interesting" and before you know it your small collection isn't

Yes, space is going to be a problem, I have a room about 8x9 feet that they will all have to live in.rubber_jonnie wrote: ↑Fri Aug 05, 2022 10:54 pm
