So, having received the H5 C5B board a little earlier this week, I'm starting to look at what I have already/can salvage from another system and have so far forgotten when starting to think about placing a different order...

Only actual step thus far is to remove the audio amp that was fitted incorrectly - I'll re-fit it once I have the basics working (as I don't have audio directly available in the monitors near my working area, it's quite far down the priority list at the moment).
One thing I've completely forgotten is whether I need the byte-swapped ROM images if I'm programming a Hitachi 27C4096 EPROM using the TLS866 programmer I bought of @rubber_jonnie a few years back...
I have images of the patched TOS 1.04 with support for IDE and standard TOS 2.06 in both normal & byte-swapped format, so that sounds like a good match for this latest H5 C5B board (at least to start with...it may end up with an ST536 fitted if I get everything working on this one).
I was hoping to get a lot done this long weekend but so far the weather on the North Sea coast has been dry, so I've been 'encouraged' to be out in the garden mowing and sorting our some raised beds for planting some veggies...

The forecast for tomorrow and Sunday still looks reasonable, so it looks like Monday might be me one opportunity for getting some progress on this board (we are apparently going to get some rain for parts of the day...unless they change the forecast again).
More here once I actually get time to work on it...
