DO NOT USE MOBILE / CGNAT DEVICES WHERE THE IP CHANGES CONSTANTLY!
At this time, it is unfortunately not possible to whitelist users when your IP changes constantly.
You may inadvertently get banned because a previous attack may have used the IP you are now on.
So I suggest people only use fixed IP address devices until I can think of a solution for this problem!

So it's not exactly YM audio coming out of Picogus. I get the same with OPLMIDI.PRG in AUTO.

OPLMIDI.PRG directs MIDI to the OPL on the PicoGUS and this converts MIDI to OPL and does not need a wavetable module. I have a wavetable MIDI module which means I don't need the OPLMIDI.PRG and MIDI just plays through the PicoGUS using the wavetable module.

MPU401.PRG is enabling YM audio to my PicoGUS which plays it when in SB mode.

I have the internal YM2149 line-out header connected to internal line-in header on my SB clone.
Then the internal line-out of that SB -> internal line-in on the GUS.
Speakers are then connected to the GUS line-out jack.

This all depends on having internal line headers and I think the PicoGUS sadly lacks them?

Yes, okay, it's the same for me too, but, for example, you can't hear the click of the keys.

But I don't see the line up on Picogus...

Ah, I hadn't checked that. I would say that your original photo with dual audio fed to your speaker is the most elegant solution when using a PicoGUS for audio.

Exactly, PicoGUS sadly does not have internal line in or out headers.
I think your cable solution is probably the most elegant one when using Picogus only.

Old soundcards usually have at least one internal line-in header, sometimes two. And sometimes line-out on an internal header.
My GUS (not picoGUS) has two internal line-in headers with independent software controlled volumes so I'm treating it as my "master" card which sound from other sources goes through. And then the speakers connected to this card only.

I must say that the external solution has no particular problems.
