My guess is you need a W32i chip. These are found on ISA cards, PCI cards have a W32p, I think. On VLB cards also W32p chip but I'm not sure?sety wrote: Wed Jun 25, 2025 1:47 pm I'm guessing it can be harvested from a cheap as chips (pun not intended) PCI board?

@sety exxos's contact might be able to offer them new. Otherwise you'd need a donor card which can be hard to find for a W32i
If it ain't broke, test it to Destruction.
Re: Phil C's Raven build
Made a start on the ET4000/W32i board today.
Annoyingly the donor board I got had a pin missing on the GPU but I was able to bodge one back on as it was one of the pins in a corner.
Other than that, I have a few bits on order but should be able to get this built pretty quickly if the new parts all arrive in a timely manner. Oh and need to track down the ram which is a bit of a pain.
Once I've got mine working, I can post the remaining 4 out to interested parties. BTW, ended up costing $94 to get five boards made because they were ENIG and 4 layers.

Looking good Phil.

Re: Phil C's Raven build
Nice. I hope it will work.
Re: Phil C's Raven build
Its crying out to have more SMT parts on there

Re: Phil C's Raven build
I'm wondering about redesigning it due to some issues with locating chips.

Re: Phil C's Raven build
Many people want all or as much as possible to be TH on retro stuff for some reason. Look more "period correct". Many are also afraid to solder SMT and loves TH. I think SMT is faster. TH is so f**king annoying. But it comes with experience I guess. A lot of us have bad eyesight since we have been around for a few years now so that is a big contribution to TH contra SMT parts as well.
