:dizzy:

I wonder if you can do one with caches turned off? I think GB6 will work with the 060 caches. If not, we can blame @dml for that one ;)
I'll give it a go when I get a chance, GB6 does some odd stuff on my Raven that may be cache related.
If it ain't broke, test it to Destruction.

Oh?

I know I tested it on the CT60 originally.. I think it was when I had my 66mhz chip. GB6 was built with the 060 in mind.. In that every test would take 1 second to complete kinda thing.. Then came the 100mhz stuff and now the raven which buggered it all up :p

Yes some of the tests run fine the first time but then slower got every subsequent test. Can't remember which one off the top of my head though.

Yeah could be caches causing it.

GB6 doesn't like it when running from ram that has copyback cache enabled, I can't remember off the top of my head which ones but some tests will crash. With writethrough cache everything works fine though :)

If you want to use copyback then I recommend setting that for tt-ram and leave st-ram as writethrough, this way one can flag copyback-incompatible programs to run from st-ram (cache settings are found in the bios menu).
Copyback does make a real-world difference from what I've tested with Quake and Gnuboy, but I haven't been bothered sorting out what programs are ok with it in general so I still just leave all ram writethrough cached

Probably worth making a note on what's not working. If it's something trivial then it could be fixed in GB6...

I did start a ground up rewrite GB7 but too many projects as usual...

Ooh I'd love to build that card. If you have spare PCBs I'd be more than happy to take one off your hands :)

Well the graphics card PCB is making it's way from China to here.

And in other news, I finally got my Pure C set up correctly, at least for me. I had to change some of the libs and includes paths to suit my Raven installation but I'm able to compile everything properly now.

There's a whole lot to learn with the Raven C stuff but I'll get there slowly.

Nice! I wanted to do this but got shy with having to find that chipset on the market. I'm guessing it can be harvested from a cheap as chips (pun not intended) PCI board?
