Phil C's Raven build

Post by PhilC »

So a lot of the items needed to finish the Raven have arrived today thanks to Mouser. It will leave me with just the ram to obtain, which I'll probably get in a week or so.

Photos of the current status shortly.
If it ain't broke, test it to Destruction.

What RAM do you need? I can see if I have some if it isn't weird stuff.

Thanks for the offer @rubber_jonnie they are a bit special and £23 +vat each and I need 6. There's no rush as I still have plenty to do to the motherboard.

I soldered up the majority of the SMT chips and some of the resistors. I get a bit bored doing SMT resistors and caps as they take longer to find than to solder, so will finish that lot off tomorrow, so the board should be complete minus ram.

I got a set of Raven PCBs but now I'm calculating the build cost I doubt I can afford it. If anyone else wants my PCBs let me know.

It's not a cheap build Steve, that's for sure but will be worth it.

Happy to lend you mine once it's up and running? That and I do have one or two spares that could go towards your build which you can have FOC? Will see what I've got and Whatsapp you.

Nice!
Not sure which one's worse, those SMD caps/resistors or all the through-hole pins
