For those who don't know about Andrew aka desert drifter, he explores the ancient west , mostly canyons looking for forgotten civilsations and "wall art" . He finds snippets of information for some lightweight history which adds more meaning to forgotten times.
I've watched all his videos and he's found lot of stuff which would have remained forgotten if it wasn't for people like him. It became one of my favourite channels and I always look forward to his next adventure every week.
However, he was in a bad car accident about a week ago and now fighting for his life. He's under heavy sedation while the doctors runs scans and fight bleeding on his brain and focused on keeping him stable.
Yesterday's update :
I think it's so sad that yet again a good, and young person has been dealt such a bad hand like thisThis morning Neuro discussed more regarding the strokes on yesterday’s scans. The strokes have not gotten worse but they have confirmed they are quite large and are located in important areas for speech, language, and movement for the right side of the body. They want to do an MRI to confirm more but are holding off at this time as stabilization of Andrew’s vitals are the main focus. It seems that moving this morning for head CT was a lot of stress on Andrew so at this time Docs are minimizing unnecessary movement/intervention to optimize his rest. This also means holding off on tracheotomy and revisiting this early next week.
Andrew’s blood pressure has been elevated today and he has been maxed on medication to it. Docs moved the ventilator to ~50% so he could begin to breathe on his own, however, today he was starting to fight the ventilator. This was causing stress on his body and increasing his breathing rate. As a result, his blood pressure spiked, SPO2 levels decreased, and ICPs increased. They were beginning to ween off sedation this morning but have now increased his sedation levels and added a paralytic (muscle relaxer). This is the appropriate steps right now as Docs want to focus on stabilization and minimize extraneous stress. This is a good step to better prepare him for additional MRIs or CT scans and additional interventions.
His wife posted an video a few days ago to his channel.. She is very distressed to say the least
