Re: NVDI still commercial ?

It's worth noting that MagiC, which shares much of the NVDI code, has been open-sourced. https://github.com/th-otto/MagicMac My guess is it doesn't have the fonts. Whether it's possible to distill the VDI into a standalone MagiCVDI* as direct NVDI substitute, I'd need to defer to real programmers on...

[Video] Fixing my STFM board

Afternoon all, Sorry I've not been around much of late. A lot of things on my plate at the moment with more to come, so not a lot of hobby time. However I was keen to get my STFM board stable to help me with other projects & to follow up on a bug report for DSTB1. Symptoms were that it would occ...

Re: My (attempted) PiSTorm STacy installation

I've gotten as far as "make CACHE=ON". 1) I wouldn't test with CACHE=ON until you have it working without cache. I'm not even sure the cache is working at all at present. 2) make can't pick up on the command line changes so do a make clean first. When I had entered the line above and atte...

Re: [WANTED] 2 things that do not (yet, I hope) exist

So yes, I'm sure it's doable. No, I'm not sure such a thing yet exists. SRAM will probably do well, but I'm worried about a cost. How much 16MB SRAM costs today? About £5 per megabyte if you have space for 7 chips. Also, why not go past 030? There is 080 and PiStorm :) A few reasons. 1) I have seve...

Re: [WANTED] 2 things that do not (yet, I hope) exist

2) (I do not know if it is possible, please people who know say so): Falcon accelerator with dual port ST-RAM. This solution would have very fast ST-RAM that can be accessible both by the chipset and CPU at the same time. Only IO space ($00FF0000-$00FFFFFF IIRC) should be routed by original Falcon ...

Re: PiStorm Chat

[EDIT] Okay, asked this on the PiSTorm Discord channel as well and got an answer there. They don't think it will work but apparently no one has actually tried it. I think you misunderstood the response. We can see no reason it *wouldn't* work, but no-one's reported trying it. I have one (of the ext...

Re: Basilisk II Atari

I had a go using nothing more than the current basilisk package on the website and the HDD.DSK image. Put them all in the same folder. Hatari boots it just fine under 4MB STE ST-High emulation with an 030+MMU. Interestingly I can't get it to work with 020, as the previous question. I wonder if that'...

Re: Basilisk II Atari

Oh wow. I was about to post that I thought Basilisk II required the MMU so wasn't going to work on an 020, but I see Anders' website says the following: 68020, 68030, 68040 or 68060 FPU is optional, MMU is required on 68030+ Which is remarkable! I'd suggest give it a go on Hatari (ST High mode) and ...

Also tried some different settings in hddriver.
I also have the Petari one but did not try it in this case.
No, that's great, thanks. EmuTOS would be my test case du choix.
