TF1230 Capacitor Fix

Found by supaduper Supaduper was doing testing on the upcoming TF1232 and it was bugging him that Hologon and other Demos are not working on the full 050 mhz. They kept crashing. Anyway after thinking for a while and with looking at the BOM for the TF1232 I noticed it there was a 50nf decouple cap f...

Re: A X68000 arrived

That is annoying and that PSU looks different from an Expert 2 one! But then the Japanese do tend to change things a lot and revise rather than churn out the same thing for 20 years. Not quite sure how you can use the new PCB and mount it securely without making something. I placed my PicoPSU's on ...

Re: A X68000 arrived

Right we're all setup. 2Mb of RAM and able to play games from the V4 image. Happy with that. The floppy drives arent working. What also complicated things is that you have to set 2048Mb before you put the ram in or the OS sulks. Insanity. I want build this Pico PSU for it but i realise that i've got...

Re: A5000 - diving in at the deep end!

I plan to try something like this: 10b.jpg Should do the trick. Just adding a memory here. I had a AUI card for an Archie once and i the generic AUI to RJ45 didnt work. I dug deep into it and found it had some kind of custom Acorn detect going on. I forget the exact details and hopefully you wont h...

Re: A X68000 arrived

Also can you get 2 Goteks connected if you've only had 1. I've 1 with FlashFloppy and 1 with HxC. Because all X68000 have 2 drives it's another thing that seems quite linked, always expecting there to be two. In general i dont use floppy drives (not even goteks) and i only have a few short and stra...

Re: A X68000 arrived

So lower plug goes to Motherboard. Middle to physical drives (so has 2 plugs), then top multicoloured to Gotek (also 2 plugs). Oh are you also using 2 Goteks? I've tried every permutation. Always the same issue. Is there no vaguely off the shelf solution for these cables? I'm allergic to this stuff.

Re: A X68000 arrived

No joy there. Same error. Guess anything that uses the OS for disk access is not happy Ok, so although I see OS text, I wrote this was a game that worked (although I used an actual disk not Gotek for this) when I had issues. I know you tried this on physical disk, but I don't think you have had any...

Re: A X68000 arrived

Also try this disk 'Flying Shark' - I can't see any black&white 'OS' text when it loads, so I wonder if this also bypasses reading the SRAM config or some other OS. Flying shark.zip (and it's a great game  ) No joy there. Same error. Guess anything that uses the OS for disk access is not h...
