Re: The Cosmic Puppet's Universe.

So...The Soldering Iron blew up Electroboom style and popped the breaker at the group.

There's a soldering station I can use there each week.

My very first attempt at soldering:

Re: The Cosmic Puppet's Universe.

Thanks @stephen_usher

Tiny gap on the lock ring but it feels secure. :)

Re: The Cosmic Puppet's Universe.

stephen_usher wrote: Sun Jun 18, 2023 5:30 pm That's what my search tells me. Both the W60D and the W61 use the same "CT Series" bits. (I had to find an Australian site which sold the tips and mentioned the W60D)
Okay, thanks for this! Now I'll be able to build my first kit. 8-)

stephen_usher wrote: Sun Jun 18, 2023 4:39 pm Apparently it's the CT series tips, which also fit the Weller W61.
Just to clarify. These will fit the Weller W60?

Replacement tip for Weller w60d iron

I've been given this soldering iron but the tip is too big for the kit I've bought. Not finding any exact matches anywhere and wondered if there are any compatible ones from other irons from weller. Can't find that out either.

Re: The Cosmic Puppet's Universe.

Exxos PSU uses like 100w less  You have to be careful with UPSes as the cheaper ones are square wave output not sine like mains. I've got one of these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/APC-1500-tower-UPS-SUA1500i-refurbished-new-cells/390337662650?epid=133932680&hash=item5ae1f00eba:g:76kAAOSwFRxe...

Re: The Cosmic Puppet's Universe.

Thanks guys. You're not gonna believe this, but it did it again about 40 mins ago. Just out for a few minutes, but knocked the computer off just before I was about to work on some stuff. I knocks out the mobile transmitter on the hill behind me, so I have the weird situation where I'm told to report...

Uninteruptable Power Supply

One weekend we had a lot of power outages. The power would often flicker on and off about 3 times. For this reason I don't leave my precious Atari setup on when I go and do something else or pop out to the shop. Someone told me about UPS's tonight. Do you guys think it's worth my while eventually ha...
