Re: JezC - the second (and laST) H5C1 build

Difficult to say without looking at TOS sources. But I'd assume TOS "pings" the floppy drives and if it gets a reply then the drive is there. Then it must access more info like getting FAT and then fails. So sounds like corruption somewhere between the 1772 to DMA or DMA to the main databu...

Re: XC95144XL & XC95288XL obsolete

The Chinese will be producing or selling them recycled for a long time to come :) That's likely true yes, but I'm sure a lot of people here will tell horror stories of using such chips from China already. Buying used through-hole parts is difficult and time consuming enough to test. Not so simple w...

Re: ST536 STE EDITION

It would add unnecessarily something like £25-£50 more onto the price. To much just for some pins and block of plastic IMO when they only cost pennies to make. Exactly the reason why I came with my own solution instead to keep costs down for everyone. In terms of the STE boosters where I got 100 mad...

:( I don't know if the OSC would kill the shifter. May be worth swapping to see if it helps...

Re: ST536 STE EDITION

Some minor changes here and there and basically done. Thankfully the BOM wasn't too strenuous because a lot was already done for the ST536 anyway. I need the PCB place to get back to me on some small header pins as I can't find any as usual. Aside from that, it is basically ready to go into producti...

Re: Exxos's PiStorm blog

@exxos I think we should just drop this since while it is possible to fix, I think you'd lose what's left of your sanity. Perhaps just follow the guide, set up the pi-storm the way it's intended. Then if the current build doesn't play nice with your H5, I can just share my old firmware file with yo...

Re: Exxos 4MB Ram Upgrade for C070789 strange issue

Is it worth even having a switch ? Just leave it on 4MB ? A lot of games are patched to run from hard drive and 4MB machine anyway. So not sure 1MB is worth the trouble anymore.

Re: Discontinued items 2024

The TF536 will likely not be produced again. Again due to reasons above. TF536_batch4_sm2.jpg https://www.exxosforum.co.uk/atari/store2/#0184 With the gerbers being released and them not selling much anymore, I don't think there is much need for me to stock these again. But thanks to everyone who pu...

Re: XC95144XL & XC95288XL obsolete

LCSC don't seem to stock much of what I use anymore. Seems anything big like semis/ sockets etc, they don't sell anymore.

I use LCSC just for assembly as JLC use them, but beyond that, I only bother with mouser now. If mouser don't stock it, then its generally not worth the trouble anymore.
