Re: Issues getting diag cart to run
If you plug it in 'chips down' it'll definitely damage it. I don't know whether it's the ROM or something else on the board. Fair enough I have probably broken it. Didnt work either side up but the atari boots without it plugged in. Should really state which side up it goes as a lot of these cards ...

Re: Issues getting diag cart to run
You might have blown the motherboard fuse as well.. But 99% of the time it's bad contacts on the cartridge port. You need to wipe IPA on the cartridge connector, insert it several times, wipe with IPA again and repeat until it works. Those cartridge connectors are 40 years old now.. I am wondering ...

Issues getting diag cart to run
Is the diag cart plug and play? My atari ste boots up fine without it plugged in but if I try it again the screen stays white and the cart feels red hot to the touch only after 10-20sec. I assume my jumpers are set right for the ste, just wondering if there is a step I am missing. Do i need to boot ...

Re: STFM case remake
Wow impressive advancement with case remakes. Will there be anyone making them commercially or built to order? If not I take it I will need to learn 3d printing and buy some serious printer. I kind of like that one someone has built with embedded floppy and gotek the translucent one looks great too.

Re: Dead psu where to start diagnosing?
Ah thankyou, wished I saw that before placing my order earlier. I am new to it all so documentation is a big thing for me to learn. I see the user manual is still in draft mode for that one. I take it the device replaces the floppy drive? It plugs into the Hard drive port on the back of the ST. You...

Re: Dead psu where to start diagnosing?
https://bbansolutions.co.uk/ is a hard drive I can recommend. Atari world seems a bit flooded with all sorts of drives lately though. But I can vouch for bban as I did a lot of testing personally. It's one of the cheapest as well. Ah thankyou, wished I saw that before placing my order earlier. I am...

Re: Dead psu where to start diagnosing?
Update on the PSU, I have put that one aside for now and stripped out my other one which had cracked board and decided to fit a pico psu using the original switch. I now have a working psu to test the 3 Atari computers that I picked up. So far managed to boot 2 from the new psu yet to try the last o...

Re: Wanted - atari st psu metal base and switch
I've got some, somewhere, some have switches but I wouldn't trust old switches. I thought you was overseas though ? Oh no I am warwickshire. I am still wanting to repair the original psu from my other posts but think it would be cool to mount a meanwell to another metal plate to use as a test psu a...
