Re: No clock signal to the Shifter

It boots. 20240419_172350 (copy 1).png What did I do? First of all I assembled the board completely, so that it had the YM2149, WD1772 and two logic chips U40 and U8 that were missing back in place. That didn’t have any effect. I found posts about IPL2 and RDY on the GLUE being low, but none of them...

Re: Disciples of Steel

Sorry, I have only just read your post. Yes he knows about it, I generally give him feedback when I complete a game. He does tend to fix things that he is able to fix immediately. Probably because of the rarity of the game we will never know if it was in the original or to do with corrupted disk ima...

Re: Disciples of Steel

Yes, it is a great time for Atari ST gaming. The problem with the game is that it is too difficult and therefore hard to make progress. Initially most opponents are too strong, you have to try to start against something relatively weak like the Jabberlings. The save anywhere function lets you attemp...

Re: JezC - the second (and laST) H5C1 build

How does that work with the VGA connector instead of a normal monitor socket? Does it work on all resolutions? I am guessing it doesn't fit through the round hole in the ST case.

Re: Disciples of Steel

Yes, it looks like Megasoft were KISS fans. The portraits are generally ugly. Interestingly it was developed in the USA specifically for the Atari ST. I can imagine that getting a few negative comments at the time. It came out in the UK in early 1992 if I remember correctly. At that time the ST was ...

Disciples of Steel

I played the RPG Disciples of Steel to the end. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hUf2yKHZAY0 It has a first person perspective for dungeons and third person for combat, a little like Curse of the Azure bonds. The intro gives you a good clue of where to go to complete the game. The game is initially v...

Re: Hiya from Leeds, UK

It was written about in ST Format at the time that Games Master never mentioned the Atari ST, so it might not have been one that they were playing Xenon on. By 1992 it was very uncool to have an ST. It still is. :D

Re: No clock signal to the Shifter

Anybody know what makes IPL2 always low? Thinking that might be significant. I have got the board so that all data lines D0 to D15 are oscillating but all the address lines are stuck high. One thing that is noticeable is that IPL2 stays low from the second that I switch on and also by reset. The pul...
