There is a Toddington near the M1 but the village hall link you posted said they are near Cheltenham!stephen_usher wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2024 11:16 pm Toddington is only a couple of miles from the first venue, but has a larger car park and closer to the M1.

Re: Recommendations - Atari Falcon with CT63
Sounds good, would be interesting to see experiences with 060 EC and LC chips. Are they unusable as everyone says?RetroPassionUK wrote: ↑Sat Feb 10, 2024 12:57 pm HI!
Looking to finish later this month, I have all the other parts including the CT63 and 060 CPU so I will post here with pics once she has been done

Re: 68060 sources
I'm with you on that but it was a punt and could have been a full fat 060. Not sure how much LC chips go for but would like to test it in my Falcon for compatibility. It was bought for $80 so about 70gbp

Re: 68060 sources
So I had a go with the heat gun, 450c setting, moving it over the underside on the soldered pins. My test solder went soft and stuck to the pcb. I pulled at the chip gently from the main side, nothing. Went back for another minute. Everything on the board seemed super hot but no movement from the 68...

Re: 68060 sources
I'll keep it's heat sink on, but good advice, thanks.
I've got the heat gun still out from another job so will have a go later. Then I can sell on the Nortel board and free some space. (Assuming there's a demand for it)

Re: 68060 sources
Nice one, thanks Stephen. I have a 450/600c heat gun and I think most solder melts around 200/250c, so will that be OK? Can I put any liquid that will stop the heat on the board to minimise heat radiating in to the cpu.
