Selecting a GenEdit color file
------------------------------

In order to use these color Degas files with GenEdit in ST Med resolution,
you must rename a file to GENEDIT.PI2. Currently each file has a number
assigned to it (IE; GENEDIT3.PI2) so all files can reside in the same
folder.

Please note that the date stamp on these files gives each one a permanent
number. For example, the date stamp on color number 4 is : 04-04-04 and
the date on number 9 is: 09-09-09, etc.

Color number 1 is the original GenEdit colors utilizing red, blue, black
and white. Color number 2 is the color-set: green, blue, black and white
that was released with GenEdit 2.02. Most of the additioal color-sets are
variations on this blue/green combination. I created these variations to
provide more options to users who may be running the program in color.
Monitors can vary in brightness and contrast and this will effect how
colors will display on-screen. Running GenEdit on a TT030, a Falcon or on
a PC under STeem with a VGA monitor may also effect how the colors will
look.

I am running GenEdit on a TT030 and my favorite color-set is number 6. I
prefer these over the colors I originally created for GenEdit 2.02 because
they look better with my particular monitor settings and the lighting used
in my MIDI studio. Maybe one of these new color-sets will improve your
display as well.

Cheers,
