                           Using GENSYSEX.GEN
                    With the SysXpress Desk Accessory

             ================================================

The GENSYSEX file as created as a "work around" and to improve the
performance of the SysXpress Desk Accessory when sending non-GenEdit MIDI
"raw" data files created by other MIDI dump utility programs such as ST
MIDI-EX or MIDIAN. GENSYSEX will not work with files that do not contain
the "F0" (begin sysex) and other system exclusive header information.

-------------------
How to use GENSYSEX
-------------------

When you wish to send a non-GenEdit data file using SysXpress, first send
the GENSYSEX.GEN file which includes a simple GenEdit Configuration
containing an initialization string and "Infinite Loop" routine allowing
multiple sysex-packets to be sent before stopping data tranmission.

If the GENSYSEX file is sent prior to sending a non-GenEdit file,
SysXpress will prompt when sending the non-GenEdit file giving you the
option to use the "Previous" file configuration. By choosing "Previous",
a multi-string sysex file can be sent without interruption. After the data
has been sent, SysXpress will prompt you to "Stop".

Sending a multi-packet non-GenEdit file without first sending the GENSYSEX
file may result in SysXpress stopping immediately after sending the first
string, and the entire data file will not be sent.
