Ron Miller is a professor of jazz studies at the University

of Miami. His areas of expertise are jazz composition, advanced

improvisation and jazz keyboards. He also directs the Monk-Mingus,

Horace Silver, Wayne Shorter, ECM and Avant Garde ensembles.

Some of his students that have gained recognition are: Bruce

Hornsby, Pat Metheny, Mark Egan, Danny Gottleib, Steve Morse and

'T' Lavitz of the "Dixie Dreggs".

After an initial period of resisting MIDI technology in favor

of acoustic music, he jumped in with enthusiasm, reviewed some

earlier studies in computer programming, and acquired a new "love".

For those interested, the programs were developed with the

	LASER C development package.
