[Cubase 3.1] Loading mixermaps?

Post by somaboy »

I'm new to the topic of mixermaps. I've managed to load the module, but how do I open existing mixermaps in 3.1? (I've downloaded some for my synths: DX21, @Juno-1, K4 etc)

Thanks for helping out.

Okay, I managed to figure it out.

What I haven't figured out is how to set the Channel/output on which a given mixermap transmits sysex and CC data? My Alpha Juno responds fine but my DX21 does not.

The old way of doing things in Cubase 2 was to create a track (Or overlay the recording on an existing track) and set the channel and port in the same way you would for note data. In Cubase 3, different classes of track were available so you could create a new track and set it as a Mixer track.

Once you have a new track with a part in it, set the channel and port as you normally would, then go to the mixermap you wish to use, set the record going and manipulate the virtual controls.

There is a Cubase Audio manual here in the Warze section, other than the audio specific parts, the rest is applicable to Cubase 3.x and will give you a lot of information.
The collection:

Atari 260ST, 520ST, 520ST+, 520STfm, STacy, Mega ST2
Atari STe, Mega STE, ST Book
Atari TT030, with 2GB Hard drive
Atari Falcon, 14MB, 40GB IDE drive
Atari Megafile 44

Thanks man, I'll try that tomorrow!

My setup is falling into place, I have my Juno 60, Opera 6, JX-3P, Alpha Juno 1, MS-20, DX21, Kawai K4r and Sequential Drumtraks all receiving midi from Mega STE/Midex with no timing issues whatsoever! I have to say: returning to the Atari platform after 20 years has been a very refreshing experience so far, also thanks to the help I'm getting on this forum.

So thanks again!
