Programming on the Atari ST Currently

hi i am a programmer for the atari st series computer,
i have large amount of time invested in the hobby , and have enough resources to assemble complete program.

basiclly i do midi stuff and am suggesting that anybody interested in this area feel free to contact me .

ideals, projects , techniques,code ,tools welcome...

main objective to share ideals, manifest code.

Well Charles, I'll let you know of a couple ideas I had. Tell me if you're interested.

1. Are you familiar with Ancient Greek modes and microtonal music? I'm thinking of collaborating with a programmer to develop some sort of Atari version of Scala http://www.huygens-fokker.org/scala/ but without the garbage scales and horrible errors in ancient, historical tunings.
2. Have you dabbled in algorithmic forms of music beyond what is currently available for Atari? I just saw this amazing spiral sequencing instrument in Reaktor 5. Imagine developing something like that for the Atari! Woo! Check it out below!

I was thinking about teaming up with a programmer later this year to develop such a thing. Now, I'm only a music theory buff - not a programmer. I'm thinking of a collaborative project at some point.

yes and no , i know it exist , i don't know theroy behind it
probally cent off cent on tunings of our tonial rationalities

do so , but have fun , sometimes fun project turn serious then lead to disaster.. i think there is some sort of scala for the atari allready.. i'll check my files for you.

yes , great melody and bass lines can be easilly created by algo ,
rhythms too

programs i have created ..need further development some are similar to programs on tims site other differ/

do what you do , it doesn't need much thought , just find some body and embark on your engineering crusade,,flow charts definity aid in creation of atari programs

didn't realy like spiral music ,can't this be accomplished with out
graphic effects?

Certain functionality may be out of scope of the project as a function of cost or as a result of unclear requirements at the start of development. If the development is done externally, this document can be considered a legal document so that if there are ever disputes, any ambiguity of what was promised to the client can be clarified.

hey its me again , i don't know why but all my posts are being changed from my user name to guest .. i still do some development for midi stuff

Way back when Donovan still owned te site, there was an incident where some user ID's were accidently deleted. They were immediatly re-instated, however some or all of that users posts were not assigned back to the user.

There was a process for re-assigning them, but required an admin to do it. I thought we had got most of the posts back but obviously there are a few still unassigned.

Glad to see your stll here though, if you give me an idea on which posts you mean I can get them set back to your username.
