Thanks for that NeoTracker link! Although later on I realized that I won't be able to run it on my stock 800XL without a memory upgrade, I'd still like having this.
I agree about the DOSes... I don't get it either. I've spent a good 20 hours fighting with them, when I can just flip the power switch on my C64 and boom, start loading software! I guess that's part of the fun of discovering a new platform
You use the XL as an instrument you say? How so? I use my C64's for both, writing complete songs and as a MIDI synth. Any way I can utilize this 800XL could be cool. Maybe some MIDI interface that controls POKEY... that could be cool. I think I saw one of those out there somewhere, for the chip alone.

Yupp, complete songs too. But in general - You play the music on it, it makes the machine an instrument. Figure of speech.
