Working Version of Steinberg Avalon 2.1
Hi.
I had the dongle for this but no disks. Unfortunately, the versions on this site and the steinberg FTP appear to be corrupt, as they crash a lot. They also have byte differences in individual files when compared.
So, I found some original disks which work fine.
Here they are:

I've included the LYNEX sampler Atari software in the same file. It's very hard to find so it might be worth putting on this site.

Thanks. I don't know if this is your web-site, but it's a great site. It's cool that there is somewhere on the net for Atari music stuff with downloads too.
Some of it is quite hard to find. I am looking for a later version of the LYNEX software, as it is pretty awful. Mine is either have 1.3 or 1.0. I saw one on Ebay with 1.7 software, so there must be later versions somewhere.

I'm the current owner, I bought the rights from the guy who started it after he became ill and unable to continue it. I've had a few issues myself recently, which is one of the reasons not much has been updated for a while, though a recent set of advertising spammer attacks has helped bring my focus back onto the site.
It would be good if you could write something about the lynex, I remember seeing it advertised when I first started doing music with the ST but never got to see one in action. You'd be credited with the writing of course Do you fancy doing something like that?

Re: Working Version of Steinberg Avalon 2.1
Sure, I'll give it a go. Might take me a little while.
It's kind of an interesting box somewhat let down by the software. The Lynex software runs as a .ACC, and in theory I should be able to run sequencers at the same time. So it makes a virtual midi port of some kind. Unfortunately, no other software is able to see that port at the moment. If I could get Avalon to talk to it, it would be awesome.

Sounds interesting; I always love to see and read about the different interfaces released for the Atari.
Re: Working Version of Steinberg Avalon 2.1
Right, I've uploaded the Avalon disk files and the Lynex software file. I'll do some digging on the Lynex before linking to the software on the site, but it is here.
I've been trying to shore up the defenses after our spammer friends kept plying the site with spam. Seemed to have fended them off for the moment

Re: Working Version of Steinberg Avalon 2.1
I've dealt with a fair number of spammers over the last couple of months.
Re: Working Version of Steinberg Avalon 2.1
Thank you for that and sorry for the prolonged absence, not been the best of years this one.
On the 2nd November, the type of attack which also affected the AMN Live section happened 5 times in one day. Get it cleaned up, another would happen, clean that one up, another, then another so looked at the admin logs. There was a user who we have both deleted, re-appearing every other time. Looks like a weakness int he MySQL code, which our hosts upgraded last week.
One way I fouled them up though was to deactivate the user rather than delete it (The user is not deleted from the database immediately, so can be reactivated if the credentials are known), then changed the password to something only I knew. Did this with a number of other accounts that were suspicious and all has been quiet since.
Now I vet all new accounts, anyone from China is banned by IP, then the password changed, just in case...
