SynthWorks DX/TX 3.0

Post by David Etheridge »

I am deserperatly looking for version 3.0 of SynthWorks DX/TX.

when I bought the software (I therefore have the dongle) it was in version 2.0. Just before I left France I got from the reseller a 3.0 beta version that seems to have much more capability, but unfortunately I never got the final 3.0.

I would appreciate if someone have this version. The dongle should be OK as contrary to Cubase the dongle for editors (Avalon, SynthWork, ...) is the same for different versions of the programs.

Thanks
Jean

I will post your request on the front page of AMN.

We really need to attract some new Atari coders to be able to crack these programs for us. Not only would this help you, it would also benefit every Atari musician who has to wait forever to find this and every other program to appear on Ebay.

I can help by posting the original source file for download if you or someone else has it. Please contact AMN at atarimusicnet@yahoo.com if you have SynthWorks DX/TX 3.0. By offering the source file, it will be easier for a coder to try and crack it.

if you give me the dx/tx original i can dissassemble it , but i am no hacker/cracker.

i take time and pride into writing some of my own programs , and i know the time , thoughtfullness and engineering that goes into writng a midi program.

no matter how small or large each program is ,its a work of art ,,, truelly a work of art . i'll admit i use whatever i can get my hands on to make midi music , but the best programs are free ware ,,
edit tracks 5 or 7
some of the dr.t stuff ...

gfa .

us atarians are outdated and to see a resurgance of any extint program would be nice.
i'll do what i can to prove i'm dedicated , but cracking this stuff is illegal..

whats the input towards this program ,,okay to crack /not okay?

Well then, let's hope someone is willing to take a few moments out of their time to forward a copy of the original disks. I'll post it as soon as I get it. Thank you for your offer to help Callaghan.

My original post was not asking for cracking the program. As I said I own the Steinberg Dongle. For info it seems that for different versions of program like Cubase you had to get a different dongle, but however for the editor/librarian type of SW the same dongle could be used (considred as SW update). In my case I bought several Steinberg SW in France before I moved to the US and unfortunately when I came back the shop had closed. So there many updates that I could not get. In case of SynthWork I just got a beta version just before leaving (this indicate that my dongle works for V3) but the program is not very stable.

In another forum someone indicated that he had a "cracked" version of this software but could not find it. If this is true it indicates that a cracked version is circulating but I could not find it.

To answer your question about can we crack it. I beleive that Steinberg has been very bad in providing update/fixes to users who bought there programs on Atari platform. I have tried many times to contact them but they NEVER even replied which really drived me crazy.
So personnally if I would have the knowledge and time to crack their SW I would really not feel bad about it

Personally, I consider all these programs abandonware (even though no such legal definition exists) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abandonware

Depending on what I find, I will always post the original and the crack so everyone find what they're looking for. :-)
