Kinda effect of limitless boredom.
I realize that nobody listen to electronic music but maybe somebody might be interested in this from its technical side.
ZX Spectrum in recording studio = Jean Michel Jarre.

The only instrument/sound-source and the only sequencer: ZX Spectrum 48K with AY-interface.
Recording-studio effect used: multitrack recording / filters / phasers / choruses / flangers / delays / echoes / reverbs / equalizers / compressors / limiters.

A ZX Spectrum you say?
I know a lot of FX have been employed but so has just about every synth in existence in a studio! It's amazing what can be achieved with so little, and something I think of when I hear my old recordings from 20+ years ago.

Heh, but actually it was rather hard.
For example - I didn't find _any_ way to make proper strings.
Square waves were still "ringing like a bell" regardless how much FX I used.
Also - we don't hear it normally - but AY/YM makes small glitches while changing volume of the square. When You add now any reverb - it rumbles like in a well. Grrrrrrrrr.
Anyway - I thought it might be interesting because it's the same chip that is present in regular Atari ST.
So if anybody has only the machine and sound-FX units, but no synthesizers/sequencers - he still can make interesting stuff, with some work added.
