My song doesn't play on AMN Live! :-(

I just uploaded a song, but when I tried to play it (to verify) it doesn't play

I downloaded the song, using the button on the website and it downloads a correct MP3 that I can play on my computer.

Anybody can help? The song was encoded in MP3 using VLC codec RAW. Is it something about compatibility with the website's embedded player?

Hi,
I download your song using the button on the website.
But I can't play your song with VLC, alsaplayer or audacious.
I'm using ubuntu 10.04.
Only audacity can open it, but I only hear noise. Sorry.

Try another converter and load up you song again.
I use lame for my songs and audacity.

chris, you rock, man! I converted with audacity on Ubuntu and seems that now plays all right. Thanks a lot.

To be honest, unless I'm exporting from Logic or something like that, I do all other MP3 exports in Audacity with the LAME codec, and the beauty of that is that Audacity is cross platform and pretty much identical in use

I agree Malcolm. I never used Audacity before, but it seems to be a very good piece of software. I guess is what I'll be using from now on

You should look up Gavin Knight from Glasgow, he does the podcast for french music podcast UK, if you track me down on Facebook he is listed as one of my friends (Known him online for years and met up a few years ago while I was working in Glasgow). He'll be able to give you a few tips on things like exporting audio and the things that can go wrong.

I'm still pretty much anti-facebook and only use it to keep a centralised contacts list (and occasionally update followers of the banal with some odd updates). Use it and it is useful, get too sucked I with the (cr)apps and it uses you!
