cubase 3 "delay" problem

Post by cheeky_robin »

I use an akai s1000, sometimes I can't be bothered to edit a sample/loop/break on the akai to get it in time, I sometimes use the "delay" tool when you've selected apart, I'll click for about -20 for example, but when I do this, some sounds cut off, I found out I could solve it by shortening length notes in that part but it's a bit time consuming, why does this happen? I have a legit cubase 3 and I'm running it on a 1040ste with 4mb

Is it in the beginning or end of a part? With the delay Cubase can miss a note because it starts before the part now.
Kind regardz,

One thing to remember is that when you delay a note to make it play on time, if your wanting to play it again in the next part it can cut the original sound off as it starts playing again 20ms before the original note has finished. If your running out of voices i=on the sampler, or your just trying to create a looping effect (Or both on occasion) then this will happen.

While it can be a pain, I'd at least edit the sound so that there is no silence at the beginning as any silence at the end would be cut off when the note finishes or the next note starts.

Avalon and Zero-X (Both available here) will do this on your Atari if you find the Akai too fiddly to edit with direct.
